Thank you for breathing hope and love into one of our unhoused friends today. Your generous donation allows us to give our friends immediate emergency assistance — that may be a temporary hotel room, or it may be one of our Hope Houses, 400 to 600 square feet, that gets them out of the extreme elements of heat and cold.
Hear it from Ben’s road: Ben was living on the streets when it hit 14 below zero. We picked him up and put him in a hotel room for two days. Then one of our Hope Houses came open, and we put him in there for 45 days — and through other ministries helping us, we got him into permanent housing. Today Ben has a job, and he volunteers all the time.
Just remember: when you’re looking at an unhoused person, that’s somebody’s mother, father, aunt, uncle, brother, or sister. And if it was your child, would you want somebody looking down on them — or talking down to them? Your gift is allowing us to change the trajectory of an unhoused person’s life.
The amounts are only suggestions — never a minimum. If you have $5, give $5 — it will be put with somebody else’s spark, and together it gets the job done. Every dollar given here stays in the Hope for the Unhoused bucket at One Spark Foundation. One Spark has no paid employees — 100% of the money goes to the cause. One Spark Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, EIN 27-1799429, and your gift is tax-deductible.
With gratitude, from the One Spark team
Hope Houses are portable houses, 400 to 600 square feet, placed on vacant lots and where they are needed. Inside: a bed with clean sheets, a microwave and hot pot, a little portable refrigerator with cold drinks, and a small desk. They are cleaned daily, sheets changed, laundry picked up and done. Ben’s story: Ben was on the streets at 14 below zero. We put him in a hotel for 2 days, then a Hope House opened — he stayed 45 days, other ministries helped, and today he has permanent housing, a job, and volunteers all the time. Over 35 years, One Spark has helped 4,200 people off the streets. Our biggest winter needs are wool socks, warm hats, and warm gloves.
It doesn’t pay for any salaries. No paid employees. 100% of the money goes to the cause.
